Since the MS-A5001 has a built in DSP and line level inputs is there any need for a LC-2? I wanted to get a processor first but this should do for now if it will work. Pair it with a mellow tuned W6.

The input section will do everything an LC2i can do that matters, except bass restoration. However, the bass boost EQ is a workaround for that.

Most likely somebody/some group of executives decided the numbers weren't adding up and it could not be turned around to generate enough profit. It usually comes down to the almighty buck when a good product is killed off.
