JBL MS-8 or Mini DSP???

searching around and the Imprint seems to get stomped on by the MS8 so I dont think I'm gonna be getting that one. unless I find something really convincing about it.

yeah im finding that the ms-8 is looking like its worth the moneyz

Exactly, I mean I wanna do this sq setup right so if it takes the extra coin then I'll shoot for it. I'm leaning towards all Dayton on the mids n highs since i love my dayton subs anyway so that'll save me some cash right there. The ms8 lets me add a center channel too which I've been thinkin about and has a 31 band eq too. So its looking worth it to me so far

im tempted to upgrade myself, but really i havnt done as much tuning as i thought i would.

For the most part, I'm set on the ms8 it time aligns EVERYTHING which is a big plus over the mini dsp that only ta's each channel. I think I'm gonna do the ms8

Yea me too. Like the fact that I can't turn my lpf off for my subs so how does that work?

Well I was wondering how many sets of outs do you need? Can I sell my 9855 and go back to a basic deck since that should handle all my processing? And how should you set your amps since all of the cross over's are handles by the Ms8

It looks like it can take up to 4 sets of inputs. But I think it'll do the same with less. Since its really made for factory systems which mainly are only 2 simple channels anyway. I was wondering about the xovers too. I can turn my mids n high xovers off but my sub xovers ccan't be turned off. I'm also wondering how to control the volume since the ms8 has volume control too.

The volume I think can be either way... But even the nicest decks have 3 sets of outs so how are you supposed to setup a 4 way system? Does it just need on set in and then it splits from there?

it has 8 jacks in and 8 jacks out (4 sets in, 4 sets out) so 4 way, you just assign em according however you hook em up to the ms8

it might very well be, but I know I'm very picky about my sound especially when I'd like to have it ready for SQ comps every once in a while. While I'm sure the imprint is better than no processing at all, I just think if I'm gonna buy a processor; might as well do it right the first time instead of getting one only to upgrade later down the road. Thats all I've been doing with all of my equipment really. Thats why this time I'm doing as much research as i can before I buy anything for this setup.
