jbl 1200 amp shuts off

when i play my speakers at high volumes my amp shuts off for a couple minutes it happens alot what is the problem

first i would make sure my subs are wired so that the impedence isn't too low for the amp. if that's ok then i'd check and make sure it is getting plenty of air to stay cool. after that i'm at the shop!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

If your amp is very hot, you could look into a cooling fan. I had an amp that got to hot and the cooling fan fixed the problem.
