Jbl 1200.1 Problem

I WILL LIKE TO KNOW IF ANYONE HAD PROBLEM'S WITH THEIR JBL 1200.1 GOING INTO PROTECTION MODE WHEN THE BASS HITS HARD. WHEN I PUT THE GAIN UP LIKE LESS THAN HALF AND THE BASS HITS HARD IT SHUTS DOWN ON ME. I CHECK ALL THE WIRES, I EVEN RAN THE AMP BY IT SELF TO GET ALL THE POWER AND STILL DOES IT. That could be an issue, or the gain being turned up to high can be another one. You need to make sure you have your 2 dual 2 ohms subs wired together for a 2 ohm load. And another thing you need to make sure you get your gains set with a volt meter. I have a jbl 1200.1, and my gain doesnt have to be turned half way up to acheive maximum power from the amp. I never have overheating issues with it either.

well i got the 2 ohms wired into 4 ohms each. then wired to 2 ohms. i got an fosgate amp running the subs bridged at 2 ohms and does not shut off that all and i got all the way on volume. i even tried only one sub to see and it still does it. if the sub's were wired wrong the fosgate will had run hot or shut off.

Well their is obviously something wrong with the amp. Ide take it to have it looked at then, because mine barely even gets warm.

I am running mine at 4 ohms and it goes into protect often. Dont understand the problem either.

It looks to me that something is wrong with both of your amps, and then seem to need repair work. Ive never had any problems with mine. Ive ran it at 2 ohms for many hours with no problems. o well

sure would be nice to have birthsheets with these amps. I have been told its safe to guess around 1.3kw with these amps @ 2 ohms

well ill get my amp check them i just dont want to spend too much money on it if i could get another amp for less than i would spend fixing this one. thanks anyways guys. Now do u think a directed 1100/d will be good for the subs am running.

Before you start making plans for another amp, ide have it looked at, and priced. Then if its more expensive than you want, then ide look for another. Hopefully it wouldnt be 2 exspensive though.

By Any Chance Will The Fuse On The Power Cable Line If Is Low Amp Like 50 Can I Put A Higher One Like A 75 Or More For Current To Amp ?
