Jacob....ever thought of a 5-channel?

Im confused, you said 'active front stage with a pair of 8" midbass off the 5th channel'. That certainly implies a quasi 3-way that would have mono midbass.
but in order to have a 3 way, dont you have to be able to set the crossover points and slopes for the speakers individually. because if thats not the case. than you can run active off a 2 channel.

Hey Jacob. Do you have an extra SAZ-3000D heatsink laying around? I have thought about taking a 50.4, an new 100.4D and a new 125.2, and robbing the input board and faceplate from the 100.4D, put the 50.4 inside first, with the new 100.4D input board, and take the 125.2 and put it in there converted to a mono amp for the sub channel...

LOL, that is ALOT of work just to have a Sundown 5 channel... Just use a 50.4 and a 125.2 or SAZ-1000D for your sub channel and you got a nice compact setup.

A 'fully active' setup means each individual speaker has its own channel of amplification. Yes this also implies each speaker can be tuned individually, but is not necessarily a requirement to fulfill the term.
None of this addresses my point that you are asking for a mono midbass setup.
