Ivereting subs vs regular mounting??

Just wondering the difference between inverting your subs and mounting them regular? I tried it out the other day and it seemed like I gained more lows but the higher notes just weren't there like when I had it mounted regular. Can anybody give me some insight? Thanks guys

yea im definitely not as loud with it inverted but it does hit lows with more authority and it looks pretty cool xD

The only difference is the change in enclosure volume. Normal mounting means you have to account for the sub's air displacement, when it's inverted it displaces no air. So, everything else constant, if you have a ported enclosure going from 'normal' to inverted your enclosure gains a little bit of usable airspace and the tuning drops slightly.
