I've got it down to three choices...help me out

Ok I want a sub with great SQ and good SPL. I've narrowed it down to Alpine Type R, Infinity Perfect 12.1, and JL w6. Which do you reccomend?

I was also looking at an eclipse titanium 12, but it is so expensive I could only get 1, where I could get 3 of the others for not much more. I know the eclipse is bad@$$, but 1 couldn't compete with 3 other 12's, could it?

IMO i am not a big fan of alpine type r. I would say go with the Infinity Perfect 12.1. Its a pretty good all round sub. Jl w6 is not a bad sub either

if you are trying to compete the Ti would probably be the best choice. especially if the classes you were in were by inches because you would be in the lowest class. double this with a large ported box and sufficient air space and blow away the comp.

you would need a large amp though even since it is one sub because they **** up power.

No I'm not wanting to compete.

And I thought ported boxes were for SPL. And sealed boxes were better for SQ.

What about 3 Perfect 12's Vs 2 Eclipse Titanium 10's?

thats very tru.........although fortget the Ti's - get the plain aluminium DVCs. they're way cheaper and almost as good - i doubt ud hear the difference unless u r like a professional or have heard more subs than you have eaten hot dinners. trust, the DVC alums are justa s good and get some 12s. friend had 3 12inch DVC alums and was hitting around 150dB - not bad for an SQ sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Go with either the Perfects or the JLW6s in a small sealed box, that should do you just fine! Such a hard decision between the two...Just listen to them and choose what your ears like!
