Ive got about 2,000 to spend on a system. Suggestions?

This will be my first system so I'm fairly new to the car audio world. But ive been doing my research so Im not completely clueless on what im looking for. Im looking for a system that will focus on sound quality rather than just the loudest subs I can get. But I still definitely want some thump. Maybe 2 10's?Ive had friends that have gone out there and have bought some cheap kicker subs and amps and they sound like shit so I want do it right and I am willing to spend $2,000 to make sure I do. This is all for an 07 Dodge Dakota extended cab. Everything is stock so I am starting from scratch.
Whats goin on?Your budget is a good one for the kinda set up your looken for.Lets get to it ,your truck is a very good platform for just about ne thing (stereo wise) you could want.If a couple of tens is what your looken to do,then here is a set up that Ive had good luck with in the past.As far as what Im recomending, these are products that I no well and in the end its gonna b what u like best not some salesman. But if SQ with the occasional rearview mirror falling off is your goal then look n2 this.I have used the RE AUDIO SE series in countless vehicles and not one time have they ever not shocked me with their smooth warm sound and their ability to jar your kidneys loose with a turn of the knob. These subs perform in a sealed or a very reasonible vented enclosier. For two SE 10's I would use around 500RMS for the pair. But make no mistake we have done a pr.of these 10's in a downfire ford box(thats rite , a prefab) and we were speachless.Another good option is the JL.subs(to give you a little heads up the RE subs cost around what a W3 cost, but they will absolutly eat a W6 alive)also the Nakamichi subs are really a great sub,the new Sony woofers are quickly becoming a force to b reconded with,as well as the new Pioneer. But make sure that whatever you do call the companies before you buy and ask questions. As far as amplifier power goes WOW thats a very large field as well. But I would audition the RE audio/US amps(they make incrediable entry level amps(if u can call them that),JL amps are high quality, and the soundstream amps r really good quality and the price is rite. But keep the fourm informed on your progress Keep it loud Rick

Thanks for the info. What component system do you think would work with the RE subs?

what do u consider kick ***? i have a set up right now that you would love . a dd 2515 [new] a kicker zx 1000 and a box [slot port of course] it metered at a 141.0 db in a honda civic wagon last week ,so im sure youll love this pm me if interested. also have a n alpine deck componants,, a massive 4 channel, and 6x9,

i would get 1 great spl based 15. i love my btl, but a dd, re mt, nightshade, or anything along those lines will do. 350 ish

get a ported box made on the smaller range of the recommended ported volume. tune it low, like 32-35Hz, no higher than 35hz. 100-200 ish depending

get an HO alty, get one big nice battery, i LOVE my xs d3100, but others will works. deka, kinetik, 2 optimas, any reliable batteries altogether giving you around 3000 to 4000 crank amps. 1/0 wire is a must, get 2 run s)1 pos 1 neg) if possible. it'll help have 2 runs over 1. 400 ish on alty, 300 on bats

get a nice 3kw amp. A sundown or audioque are great amps. something known to take good daily abuse at 12v. 500 ish

that leaves you more or less $250 to spend on your HU and front stage. I recommend a good 100x2 for the front stage and find a decent set of components for up from. Also if you can find a 9 to 11 band EQ for cheap they really make a difference if you have a shitty EQ on the deck.

do what i just listed, pm me if you have any questions. I garuntee you're system will impress you daily.
