Ive got about 2,000 to spend on a system. Suggestions?

This will be my first system so I'm fairly new to the car audio world. But ive been doing my research so Im not completely clueless on what im looking for. Im looking for a system that will focus on sound quality rather than just the loudest subs I can get. But I still definitely want some thump. Maybe 2 10's?Ive had friends that have gone out there and have bought some cheap kicker subs and amps and they sound like shit so I want do it right and I am willing to spend $2,000 to make sure I do. This is all for an 07 Dodge Dakota extended cab. Everything is stock so I am starting from scratch.

before doing this.. make sure the electrical is up to par with w.e you decide or you will be hating life.. set aside 200-1000 for electrical based on total power.. for you I would do 2 12" fi qs with 1000-2000 watts.. Some nice comps.. this is where your taste comes into play..

Wow thanks a lot for the suggestions. Why spend so much on the component speakers though? 750 seems like quite a lot

Well if you want to keep truck were you can keep all factory functions you can...

A do a prefab box with a pair of 10's ( dc audio lv 2 sound nice and get loud) 800 watts rocks them. And do a nice set of comps and coax for mids ( lots to pick from ) run a nice 4 ch to mids a mono to sub and keep factory cd. Or upgrade...pm me for any help you might need

i am pretty sure i can do an amazing setup for you that will have really good sq and enormous output for under 2k shoot me an email ( in my sig ) and i can get into particular models links ect alot easier than here.

and spending 750 for a set of mids is ludacris a set of the 250$ dls 3 ways i sell are every bit as good ( they retail for 900 ) and are made by hand in germany (scandanavia) by 1 of the best speaker makers in the world. they are the top euro mkt speaker every year for a reason.

My strongest suggestion would be to go to your Hertz audio dealer and by the 2-way high energy component set. It's cheaper than 750 so you can spend the rest on deadening or whatever.
