Um.. the Germans loved Hitler.. it was the Jews that were afraid of him.. That's a TOTALLY different situation since the 'strength' of the country was on Hitler's side, and in Iraq, it's a small percentage of the population.. there are a LOT more people that want him dead (or so it would seem) than actually like him.. Freedom takes risks.. we took that risk because it was important to us..

I would believe that if.. Bush had not told Germany, Russia, and China to deal with them.. saying that N. Korea was in their back yard so they should deal with it.. by the same logic, Saddam is their problem, not ours..

I'm done with this thread for now...but I would like to ask one question...
Do you honestly think war could have been avoided? Both short and long term, do you actually think that we can live in peace with Saddam? Do you think he will just resign one day down the road if we had not taken some action?
This was building up, it was bound to happen. Peace and negotiation is not always the way out of conflict, sometimes war is needed, check a history book out. Even if we could have avoided war at the present moment, it would have eventually happened, maybe not with Iraq, but maybe even North Korea. If we take care of Saddam, don't you think N. Korea will be a little less inclined to take any action? they do have nukes, after all.

I agree completely.. My point is, we will never know now cuase we didn't even try, not to the end of reasonable.. not in my opinion.. or that of 10s/100s of millions of people around the world..
I'm not saying war is never acceptable, others are saying that. I end up getting lumped into that. So... during Bush-I's campagin on Iraq, we told the Iraqi people to stand up and strike out against Saddam.. and they did.. then we walked away and left him in charge.. nice.. So not only did we not help them when we could have, we helped to screw them over...

I personally do not have any problems with americans. Besides their beleif that they are superior to everyone else, which in itself is evidence to the contrary.
Bush is a madman in this for his own gains. He does not care about the soldiers, all he wants is Saddam. Saddam WAS disarming, he had already destroyed more than half of his armory - according to US reports anyway - and Bush still wanted war.
This war is unjust, and no-one can reasonably argue against that.
