its here :-)

fire.

no really. they like to catch on fire. hopefully you got one through an authorized dealer, you'll be wanting that warranty.

and no, i'm not bashing memphis because i hate them. my silverado is all memphis, but the 4kws have issues. we have had 8 in and out of the store (mostly due to james) and each one of them has seen service at least twice.

and yes, they like to catch on fire.

edit: james says they will do good power at 16 volts (over 4kwrms), but again, he cautions, the voltage drops and the amp will go up in flames.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:
dude on ssa just wrote this

so have i. idk i think its if the voltage drops too low, which theyre rated at 14.4v i believe...so i dont think on 16v that the volatge could drop to low....
Yeah.. he must have been running them low ohms on 16 volts, Memphis is solid product and I doubt they would keep selling a defective amp if it was so common.

yea, watch for voltage drops on the memphis amps....they wont be too happy dropping too low....but other then that its a killer amp....I'd take the memphis over a hifonics anyday.......

as far as voltage drop and amps burning up yes they will do it.

but if these amps are ran properly on 16 volts with a bank of batteries there should be no reason thevoltage would drop low enough to cause problems.

it takes the amp dropping well below 10 volts before there is a problem.
