It is legal to purchase, own and fire automatic weapons.... FYI

The second amendment was created in a time where all guns were 5 feet long, slow to fire and unconcealable. The second amendment is much out dated.
The principles behind the second amendment isn't though. Those old founding fathers had more common sense than any of these modern liberal politicians. That's for dam sure.

hm, so a flintlock pistol isn't concealable? That's besides the point, the government is upgrading its militia and the public shall do the same. I personally own more firepower than a swat team, and my whole family is trained in proper use.

Every citizen should be a soldier. This was the case with the Greeks and Romans, and must be that of every free state.

A Bill of Rights is what the people are entitled to against every government, and what no just government should refuse, or rest on inference.

Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.

For a people who are free, and who mean to remain so, a well-organized and armed militia is their best security.

When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.

-Thomas Jefferson

I would toss in my own argument as to why your statement is foolhardy, but I think I will let Mr. Jefferson handle it instead.

i didnt go through the hole thread but i reviewed the 1st page...

i guess depending on your background check and the state you live in, things are different b/c it doesnt take weeks here in georgia

im about to buy a kriss vector crb, its about 1600.. its an emaculate gun. can shoot it single shot or full auto with a flip of a switch...

i was gonna buy it last week but i got 2 taurus pt24/7 40 cals.

at the store ima buy it from i should be in a out with the gun and bullets in an hour or less...

when i got the 2 40cals there was some old guy buying an automatic. he was out of the store faster than i was.. after paperwork and fbi background check i was in and out the store with both guns, 4 mags and 300rds of hydra-shok halo tips in 35 minutes

then i went directly to the licensing office and paid for my concealed weapon permit. got finger printed and my physical permit should be in the mail with in a few days. i keep 1 one me and 1 in the house

I agree with the right to bear arms, just not handguns or automatic weapons. I think the only firearms people should be able to own are bolt action, non-automatic rifles.

I don't see what the fascination of fully automatic weapons is. I have rented them before at the local ranges, and in my opinion that is the fastest way to waste ammunition. In most cases, the spray and pray method from a fully automatic weapon is the best way to miss your intended target and hit an innocent target. Up close, that is one thing. After 25 yards, it is a totally different ball game with accurately firing a full-auto weapon!

Personally, I would rather have a suppressed, short barrel rifle for a defensive situation, but that is just me. I am going to be pissed if Obama closes the NFA registry!

The people that legally carry a firearm aren't the ones you need to worry about. If they make it illegal for anyone to carry do you think criminals are going to stop carrying theirs too?

Unless you are an SOT or a CIII dealer, how are you going to LEGALLY obtain a Post 86 full-auto? Oh, I see you are going to get the ATF approved civilian semi-auto model:D

With regards to full-auto, I made a bet with someone that although he could fire his registered M16 faster in full-auto mode, I would have more "kill zone" shots from my semi-auto AR-15 than him @ 100 yard shooting from a bench. We bet lunch, and I ate for free:D

For what it is worth, he lost to this:

You are a victim of propaganda to say such a thing.

Yes to everything on that list, and more. I can add I also have fire extinguishers on each floor of my home and in both cars. I have an active fire system that is intergrated to the alarm and will automatically call for help.

I don't need a gun in everyroom, because I have one on my hip.
Yes, I carry one on my ankle, houses are burglarized everyday, a home invasion happened less than 6 months ago, right down the road from me. I have a wife and two small girls to protect.

2 years ago some youths started rioting in Europe, every night they burned cars and vandalized them. It lasted 1-2 weeks, they burned 300-500 cars or more ...research it!!! The youths went unchallenged, that would not happen in America becasue you know you would get shot. In Kennesaw,GA. 16 years ago the crime rate and house break in rate was 60-70%...the city passed a law that one person from every household take a gun safety course and own a gun. RESULTS!!!! 1 year later the crime rate is 4% and has been since then.

Proof is in the pudding, ask a criminal if they want to break in my house or my neighbors( they don't have a gun).
