Hey

Well its about 2-3 years old, mostly use the Xm on it. The problem just started yesterday I don't use the cd that often like I said I use the xm moslty. Anyways I went and pop a cd in no problem there, cycled through a few songs relized it wasn't the right Cd so I hit the eject button and the disc didn't slide out all the way I could barely get my fingers on it. I would say it only slid out a 1/4" or so. Since then it is hit or mis on the ejecting sometimes it will slide all the way out sometimes it doesn't even pop out butIi do here it attempting. Has anyone one had this issue? Is it common?

the answer is yes. next time when you hit eject and it sticks, push down on the lip of the disk. I fixed this while mine was apart for the pico repair by lubing the sliding joints on the eject mechanism.

It doesn't sound like the gears are stripped It seems more likely the rollers are slipping

So Dman you say just put some pressure on the top of the disc to, what is getting in the way exactly.

the rollers are slick and if yours is like mine, it also has a couple of metal on metal joints that need lubing.

putting pressure on the disk pushes it tighter to the rollers

anyway to clean the rollers up with out taking it apart. Probably not figured i'd ask cause i really don't feel like taking it out of the truck and taking it apart, don't have a whole lot of free time these days

not really a good way without removing the unit.

if you can pull the unit out of the dash, you can remove the top cover and it's 4 screws that hold the cd tray to the rest of the unit.

Ok thats what i thought. Maybe during my lunch i'll sit out in the truck and pull it and see what i can accomplish, well not today as i don't think i have a philips screw driver in the truck and its cold out. So I'll have to plan on it next week when it warms up a little. Should i use a little rubbing achohol to clean them off

Thanks for the help guys
