Is wiring that hard

Really? I seems to know the basics for wiring the amp to the sub a few things about the amp to power i still need to learn but is really hard or kinda study and diy so i can save $50 on installation
any pointers or tips
It can seem a bit daunting at first but if you just read through the installation subforum here as well as on other sites (http://www.bcae1.com is pretty much a MUST-read for the complete novice wanting to learn)

What are you wanting to save $50 on having installed? That's actually pretty cheap as most places I know charge more for that just for a basic headunit installation //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Well i was j.w if its a possible diy if you had no experince i think i just might spend the $50 im gonna have the head unit already installed but he said he would wire the amp, sub, and put some dynamat in the trunk

If you plan on doing stereos at all in the future, I suggest reading up on it a bit and just doing it yourself. Not hard. Can be a pain in the *** when trying to get the power wire from the battery to your trunk. Do not skimp on this part, drill a hole in your firewall if there is not one available and use a rubber grommet to run the wire through.

true no its not $50 an hour its $50 flat for everything

I think i just might take a look in my car and see how it gonna be with the carpet and through the firewall and junk ya know

Im a pretty good hands on guy and this doesnt seem like its hard its just a matter of learning and detail

wiring amp to subs is easy... running power wire + other wires under the carpet SUCKS... fiddling with that **** coat hanger to pull it through tough spots...
i hate even thinking about it
Speaker wire through the door jambs...etc.

Like we are all saying, it isn't hard in a scientific kind of way. It is tedius in a manual labor kind of way.

Be sure to take the extra time to secure the wire and don't cut anything until you have eveything built. There is nothing worse than cutting wires too short and having to buy new 0/1 wire. Guilty //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

if it was me id pay the $50 and have him do it, just because its a pain in the ***... just make sure to watch him to see if he actually knows what hes doing

he knows what he is doing he used to work at a car stereo shop and did literally dozens a day and did his cousin system flawlessly and we're good friends so its covered
