I've read that people have run it at .5. I was searching it here not to long ago.

Thinking about getting one myself.

The audiopipe 3000 puts out rated power and actually isn't a bad amp.

Yep. But there is an advantage to that. It runs max at 2 ohms.

The AP15001D is the "good" AP, yes.

The AP30001D is two of the 15001D's strapped internally.

1500 rated at 1ohm, 3000 rated at 2ohm minimal impedence.

Depending on your actual rise, you could get away with less, assuming your electrical is up to par. It all depends on you, sir.

It will do a true 3000rms kid.
