They are solid state amplifiers that try to duplicate the "softness" of vacuum tube amps. Transformer coupled outputs and no closed loop feedback. I remember a thread on ECA where a US sales rep was trying to convince people how wonderful they were but he wouldn't share any tech details to justify his claims. We concluded it was snake oil marketing aimed at the psyco-acoustics crowd. Richard Clark did a test on one and he just laughed at the design concept. I think the damping factor was
