adding a batt will not help in sound quality. even the same setup in your friends ride even same car will sound different. just acoustics.

now if you have low voltage and have to crank the gain to get the same output and most likely clipping , that could be it to sounding different.

get a volt meter and then you will know for sure! something maybe different.

measure the voltage coming out of the outputs of your amp and his. that will tell you who is putting out more power!

yup

both have 110 amp alts.

at full tilt i am showing around 76 amps and around 14.2 volts according to my distribution block it has 2 led displays one for volts one for amps.

big 2 done batt ground and motor ground with 2 gauge. 2 gauge power to trunk. neither of use has alt done stock wire looks like 4 gauge.

total system rms is about 1000 rms 400x1 subs 200x2 fronts and 75x2 rear

i get light dimming but only at idle after a short time of strong bass otherwise not much.

my other friends say im fine that 1000 rms shouldnt need a second batt and that my buddy with that batt is just over kill but im still debating. he has a kinetics btw in trunk and stock in front.

get a cheap volt meter that reads ohms. they are $20 at home depot. i still have the first one i ever bought from there 8 yrs ago. play around until you see something different. like i said, could be placebo effect!

Maybe its because in his car your on the passenger seat and in your car your in the drivers seat
