I went to a car audio shop today and was asking a few questions.. the guy said that I could wire my 2 4ohm DVC subs up to a 2ohm load mono and bridging my 2 channel amp.. he kind of drew it out for me.. but I don't understand it because he didn't put any + or - on it. anyone ever heard of this?

also.. he said that I don't need 4 guage wire with only having a 1000 audiobahn and 1000 pyramid amps that 8 guage would be fine... they have been hooked through a 60A fuse for about a month now and havn't blown it yet... so maybe he is right... any ideas?

i would upgrade to 4 gauges and to hook the single sup up to the amp what you do is you hook together the + on the subs then the - together then on the amp someare different usualy you can just hook one of the + on one channel to the - on the other channel

series each sub = 8 ohm load.

parallel the two subs = 4

bridge the amp = each channel "shares" the load making the amp perform at a 2 ohm load.

what shop did you go to?

Go with the 4 awg if you can. It wouldn't hurt. But I'm also a wire *****. If you need some 4 PM me.

awsome thanks beanII.. I"ll have to try that... see if he would have just explained it that way.. I would have understood.. he did show me something different though...

but I can parallel the subs both to the amp?.. like having both + and - wires from each sub and just stack them on the bridged terminals of the amp?

naa he dosn't seem to like audiobahn.. I think he is a Diamond Audio dealer, I've noticed that he trashes almost everything else.. he says audiobahn dosn't put out rated power.
