setup: mcd500, single 12" m3 ported box tuned about 32hz. stock head unit, LOC where stock sub used to be.

sounds nice in the car.. but when i listen to the sub in the trunk, it sounds totally different, almost hollow. is that normal? if not, whats the problem? does it have to do with the settings on the amp?

thanks

The enclosure was (hopefully) designed with the transfer function of the vehicle in mind. Opening the trunk and listening to it from there negates this, destroys all low-end freq response.
