is this good for two tc3000 recones???

ive been looking for a new source of recones for a while and i really wanted a nomex/honeycomb cone, the only compay i could think of that was using them at the moment was creative sound solutions (CCS) and Peirce audio products (PAP, maker of the WMD woofers)

so i emailed mr. Peirce and he told me they could make some recones for the tc3000's easily (i could still use the original baskets as well)

it would have a nomex/honeycomb cone with a high roll surround like the one in this picture

(here is a 12" cone but its the same material)

and it would have a carbon fiber dustcap (unmarked)... just like the one in this picture except it would be blank

the rest of the softparts would go as follows...

dual 2 ohm 3" coil

and two or three medium 10" spiders

i can get two of these kits (matching) for $220... is this a good deal //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

seems good, and I haven't heard any bad things about Pierce audio. They bought out WMD right?

i thought they have owned wmd from the begining //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

buuuuut, im mostly asking if the price seems right?

regardless of what people say the axis and 3000 are not the exact sam driver and shouldnt be used like they are
tell me the difference?

i was told by thilo that the parts are interchangeable

the motor i have was off one of the last batch of tc3k's so according to him it should be the exact same as the axis motor... so i dont think i have anything to worry about

PAP makes the WMD. Also i would never buy anything from PAP but thats me. I suggest a search, there is a good chance you will change your mind. Also im 99.9% sure the TC 3000 and Axis motor are the same, pretty sure all that changed were soft parts.

hmmm...perhaps that is what Kyle may have been talking about. I thought when they switched over to Audiopulse they changed some stuff in the motor also.

If i were you, i would look for a pair of Lightning Audio X2 top assemblies, they were avalible w/ a high roll surround and honey comb cone, not to mention they will bolt right up to your motors.
