ok, so heres my question (trying to do the math, but got frustrated)

mechman only makes a 220 amp alt for my truck...

i will be running that, with 2/0 gauge, big three and 3 optima red tops (i know their not the best, but it's what i have for now)...

i will be pushing 2 AQ HDC3 18's with an AP 3000D at around 1500 w rms a piece

as well as 2 6.5 compnents, and an 8" sub in each front door and dual 6.5 components in the rear doors.... still undecided on the components and amp... but will be running around 100w to each 6.5, and 200w to each 8" off of a 5 channel amp ...

i know thats a lil bit of a vague description, but i'm still in the planning phase...

question is, do you think a 220amp alt will be enough to handle this? DC makes a 270 amp one, but it's almost twice the cost, as well as about a 2-3 month production time.

it should handle that, but picking up 2-3 of the deka 9a31s or similar that can be picked up here would be your best bet.

yea, i eventually will... i just already have the optima's sitting around, and am doing a COMPLETE rebuild of my truck... so the budget just keeps getting smaller and smaller, lol

Dekas are only 100-150 shipped on here so those should be on your list.

For a short time frame that setup you listed will work, but those red tops as you said won't do much. I would actually suggest selling them locally and use that money to get some Dekas.

where "on here" can you find dekas? ... are u talking about in the classifides? or in the shop?

In the classifieds you can get them cheap. If you have a "battery outlet" type of store local then you can get them very very cheap even with paying the core charge.

one red top up front for the vehicle, and one kinetik hc2400 in the rear for audio?
