Is this bad or not?

Okay, I just got in fromt programing my amps. I did what the Alpine book said but once I was done, I had no bass at all. I didn't like it. So I changed a few things around. Where the book said to have -db, I put to max + db. Also for that time thing, I don't remember what it was called the book said to have it at 9.9 ms, so I changed that to 7.0 ms. And now I can't even turn my volume past 15. The bass is so loud I can't even hear my speakers. I currenty have my speakers connected to my head unit cause my Octane R2.5:2 died on me. So should I turn some of the settings lower or keep it where it is? I'm one of those people that loves bass but if this is harmful to my amps and subs, I don't mind turning the settings down.
