is this amp the same as an MD2?

If I remember correctly the new owner of US Amps owned/owns US Acoustics.

My above statement, no way implies that the amps are the same. I have seen plenty of car audio equipment that looks the same, but is completely different when it comes to parts. So that was just a small disclaimer. Even if an amp has the same board, higher tolerance and precision components could be used, which completely changes the characteristics of the amplifer.

It is not possible that this amp and a US Amp would have the same board...

Lots of amps of differing qualities use the same boards.

Arc Audio used the same board in their highest line of amplifiers (at that time) that Clarion used, for example. The Clarion being a much cheaper amplifier and had a much lower perception of quality, yet they used the same board.

Some of the older US Acoustics amps were Zed Audio built and very nice quality. The newer stuff isn't as nice.
