Okay I gotcha. What type of amp do you suggest for an Alpine Type R?

You need one that does 750-1000 watts at 2 ohms. Preferably a mono. I would go with the Alpine mrx. They are pretty good 2 ohm amps.

@audiobaun just messaged me and said that the amp would be fine at 2 ohm mono. I'm just not sure what to believe haha

Believe DCtC. That amp is far from ideal for what you want.

Maybe it'll work on music, depends on wiring and gain setting too. The full 500@2ohm seems iffy though

Any of your friends have amps that always go into protect when they turn it up? Normally that's because they are wired lower then the amp can go. Not always but normally

I could get this amp for a great deal so if it will work then I am wanting to buy it for sure. I just need to know if it will work. I understand what all of you guys are telling me but I have 2 different opinions so I don't know which to go with

Think about it. It's budget fosgate. Basically a name. If they say bridged at 4 ohms I wouldn't go lower. It would power some doors good.

Look for a mono amp that makes the power you want at 2 ohms. 2 channel amps are not designed around subs. They will work but you can get more for the money from a mono ( made for subs )

For the $80 they sell for online, yes. But you can go bigger. Stock electrical I wouldn't go over 1000 watts.
