Hey everybody,i need help! I am planing to buy Alpine Type R 1522 subwoofer..

It works on 4 ohms, and it takes 750 wrms! Sensibility is 87 DB,and freq is 18-400

I am planing to run it with this Amp http://ampguts.realmofexcursion.com/MB_Quart_RAA2400/

I was told that it provides more than 800 rms on 4 ohms, that it goes up to 900..

Can someone with a lot of experience tell me,is this amp ok for R 1522? (4 ohms)

My HU has 4V pre outs (Alpine 9884 )

that sub is Dual 2 ohm. you dont have to run it at 4 ohm, you can choose 1 or 4 ohm. what are you going to pay for that specific amp? you might be able to get a single class D one ohm stable amp for less

I have no intrest on 1 ohm, class d or anything like that.. This music is for my soul,i dont want bass,i want music.. That is why i want to run it on 4 ohms.. Front speakers will be Alpine R Type components, run on 2x150 or 2x200 rms on 4 ohms..

This Amp costs me 170 euros

If what you are trying to say is that you are looking for sound quality, then a type r subwoofer is probably not the best choice in the first place. if you are saying that you dont want it to play lower notes (bass) then a subwoofer is not your best choice either.

I was trying to say that i am going for sound quality //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I know that the R isnt the SQ material, but i dont know.. I have some wild trip that i have to have it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I want loud music, but i want it to as quality as it can with this components..

My only question is-is this amp good enough for that woofer?

that amp will work fine, but the chance of you noticing a difference between that amp and a class d amp are slim to none with that sub

That is very posible //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif The important thing is the amp, that it posseses sound quality.. I will easily sell the R Type, and later on buy something more SQ material //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I have a offer for a Phase Thriller Pro 15'' brand new for 150 euro

http://www.bigdogaudio.de/subwoofer-chassis/subwoofer-3846-cm-chassis/preisklasse-251-500/phase-linear-thriller-pro-15.html

This is i think true SQ material.. But can it take 800-900 rms? Will it be loud? What will be better? R 1522 or this?

You have a blown cap in the amp more than likely. Had the same thing happen to a soundstream amp.
