Is this Alarm good

The local shop only offers Autopage and Avital. They said they were going to use Avital on my car. which is a 1996 Honda Accord.

It is $229 for a basic alarm with keyless entry. no special keyfob.

$399 for Alarm & Remote Start

$399 for the best alarm system. Comes with the special keyfob with ur car on it and whatnot.

Im going with the $229.

They solder the connections as well. Those prices include installation

Did I get a good deal? It is getting installed Jan 3rd. I have not paid for anything. Just callin around, and they do not let you bring in other alarms to be installed. It was either Advanced Audio & Video(Mom&Pop Store who are authorized in Alpine,MTX, Autopage, Avital) or Best Buy.

Information would be great. I'm going to go read some reviews

Shop around... find what fits your needs, etc.

For me, I'm going with a $500+ alarm. Paging system, 3 sirens, back-up power source, tint sensor, shock sensor, the whole nine. Including starter kill, fuel pump kill, relocated hood pop cable. Obviously you don't have to go all out as I am, buy my car is a magnet and target for thieves.

LOL... go get a cam. I'll mop that piece of crap. Right now with the things in my sig, I'm doing 163 whp. I should be doing almost 200 whp with a set of cam and an intake manifold. haha. im not keepin the car myself that long!

so i dont think i need to drop that much into it.

i plan to upgrade to a new ride for college but the car will stay in the family.

im concerned bout the brand tho. How is Avital

I'm not familiar with the brand. Look for a more known brand like Python, Viper, etc.

the stock GSR i spretty quick..

buddy has one.

the only shop in town that does alarms uses Avital and Autopage only.

the other option is Best Buy tho

Nothing wrong with Best Buy in my opinion, really.

I'm buying the alarm separately, and taking it there for installation.

There's no "Pro" audio/video shops around. Just mom and pops little **** shops.

I'm not going to trust the shop with the shitty little garage, over a place like Best Buy.

At least with Best Buy, they have people there who actually had to pass a course and training to work there, and the work is guaranteed.

best buy tried to charge me up the ass one time.

i bought a 199 headunit and it came iwth free installation. after everything, they wanted $70 for parts. i was like wtf.

so they have lots of hidden fees and stuff
