i just had one really quick question, would this alpine MRP-M500 be good with 1 10inch alpine type R

Oh yeah, definitely. The DSC is a much better value, but I was just directing it at the OP, not you, incase he was set on matching brands. I actually have an M500 sitting in my room next to me - tiny little guy, but I'd never pay more than $100 for it lol.

The M500 was intended to power a single Type-R at its RMS rating. It'll be a good match, but like stated, you can do better for your money. JUST last night I sold my 12" Type-R and MRP-M650 with box for $285 to some local highschool kid - in my opinion, he overpaid. With $300, you have some nice options for a real nice single sub set-up.

No problem. Have fun with it.

When/if you upgrade to a pair of Type R's, you'll need to address your charging system. You most likely won't need an alternator upgrade, but the big 3 and and a batt upgrade may come into play...

one more quick questions, if i were to upgrade to this combo, would the subs kind of cancel out the speaks (i have some 80 dollar speakers, kickers in the front and back)

or would it sound decent or would simply turning down the sub do the trick?

I'll need more info to give you my opinion. Model numbers for your speakers would be nice. Also, are they amplified? What amplifier are you running? Are your doors sealed & deadened?
