Is This A bad idea for kicker l7s???? HELP!

doesnt do nothing for ported if i recall
bro polyfill in a ported box wont do anything.
case solved.
Really?? Now I'm no polyfil pro but, in my application Im going for a little deeper and lower extended freq. output, Hence why kicker recommends polyfil....but he can do whatever he wants. If you really are that ify on using it just call stillwater designs.

ok well my input was to vague.....

normally a ported enclosure is large... polyfill works great in sealed enclosures obviously....

the bigger the box's internal volume the less effective polyfill gets. it becomes harder to "trick" the subwoofer into "thinking" its in a larger enclosure.

Now when adding polyfill to a ported enclosure you cant just THROW it in there and expect great things.

Now To properly stuff a ported enclosure and KEEP its original tunning depends on the internal volume of the box before and after stuffing. Common rule of thumb a ported box 3 cubes or bigger about 1 pound of polyfill is needed per cube.

obviously stuffing a ported enclosure has its benefits but one must remember that stuffing a already built tuned box will change the resonant frequency.
