Is there any diff between front and rear channels?

Ive got a 2 channel i want to use to amp 4 speakers for a friend of mine. is there a difference in the front and rear channels? Im thinking stereo is just left and right so i could do the left speakers on 1 channel and the rights on the other? So other than not having fader functions its no big deal right? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

The "rear" channels of a 4-channel amplifier sometimes have different tuning features such as different crossover frequency ranges, but other than that there typically is no difference between the "front" and "rear" channels on an amplifier.
