Sure you can run it at .5... doesn't mean your amp can or cannot handle it.

.5 ohm is exactly half the impedence of 1 ohm.... you're running the amp roughly twice as hard... I don't know of many amps that will run .5 ohm... for most this is an overheating amp death waiting to happen.

If 1 ohm was the same as 0.5 ohm they would call it the same thing.

You need to find somebody who has used that amp and ask them. To get their attention you should have asked that question in the title. Since you did not, this is a fail.

the gain deals with the input voltage... besides, if you're not looking to pump every last watt possible out of the amp, then why the hell run it at .5 ohm...If you're set on it ask the manufacture or somebody with the amp...Personally, I can't imagine why ANYONE would want to run an amp at .5ohm, most of the time thats not that desireable.

If the amp is rated for 1 ohm, and you run it at 0.5 with the gains and volume low, then you prob. won't have a problem. After impedance rise anyway you'll most likely be above 1 ohm reactive.

If you can wire to .5 ohm, you can wire to 2 ohms which is what the amp is designed for.
