Is the Eclipse CD5000 any good?

Speaking of things that don't make sense, why would some of their models have 8V preamps, while others have only 5V?

I looks like the x-over is pretty basic on the 5000. I was looking at this unit but it seems like the crossover is just a single setting that does both front and rear at the same time. Any CD5000 owners out there that can clear this up? The other problem with this generation of Eclipse is the ergos. My CD5435 has volume and tune knobs that are small, slippery and very sensitive. Going from one song to the next on a CD usually involves going past the desired song back and forth a couple of times..

Sound quality is very good though..
