Is speaker wire size important?

I currently have 18 gauge speaker wire all around my car powering my components and coaxials.....

my question is, is that with my amp and speakers and tweets (kicker 650.4 and MB quart premiums), should I go with 16 or 14 gauge wiring, or is the 18 good enough?

the 18g you running will work but for piece of mind most people go with 14g but if it's not broke don't fix it, you most likely will see no difference in sound at all so if your just killing time sure is it needed no.

i think you're fine, heck I use stock wiring up to 100 watts. personally I do 1-100 watts for stock or 18g, 101-200 for 16g. i'm sure that some ppl here are going to cry foul about running stock wiring @ 100 watts but I've never had an issue.
