Is "Break in" Really necissary?

It also sounds like the amp is clipping. 500w isn't that much, especially spread across three drivers. Plus, they're only 10" drivers. They aren't made to be hitting rock-bottom bass. Generally, the larger the driver, the better that driver is at hitting lower octaves.

how? Did you meter it right away then afterwords...
lies aka psychoacoustics..
He means tonal qualitys and sensitivity, maximum volume is not what he meant.

To say it is lies is saying you have limited experience with different types of subwoofers.

No, its saying I have LOTS of experience with this stuff and know truth from gossip... tonal quality changes from break in... haha.. no. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif The only thing that changes is that the suspension can loosen slightly, not enough to dramatically change the volume... I'm not even gonna go into "tonal quality", do you know anyhting about how subs work or T/S params?..

You'veowned a few subs that didn't have a noticable difference after time and you now assume every sub is the same.

Thats wrong, your statment that all subs sound exactly the same from new to used is gossip in its self.

yeah way to put words in my mouth... go away and leave this to people who can give facts about the topic...

break-in = overrated

speaker(SUBS) itself should be ready to play right out of the box, unless you have to assemble it;
Have you ever seen a MOFO right out of the box then compared it to one that has been played for a week. Night and day difference. The mofo's are stiff as $hit when they are brand new.
