if you are wanting SPL, i would recommend memphis subwoofers over kicker subwoofers.

almost every setup i've ever did (so i've tried multiple setups with multiple subwoofers from BOTH companies, so nobody can rely on the *install dependant* arguement) memphis was almost -always- louder. it was just easier to get numbers *on the meter* out of memphis subwoofers.

they were plenty loud in every day setups also, kicker just sounded a tad better.

if you want an SPL setup i can get you a memphis HPO 12'' subwoofer for 125 + shipping charges. now THAT would be a good SPL setup regardless of power. they dont require alot of room, they are -very- efficient and will hold descent amounts of power also. pm me if you are interested.

if you are going to do an SPL setup DONT get the L7's. memphis will meter better, i garauntee it.

and if i was going to try to sell him something i have an L7 8'' that i would have tried to get rid of instead. but i'm going to use it on my surround sound reciever.

i hit a 136 db "outlaw" style spl with 1 kicker comp vr 8'' subwoofer running on 350 watts RMS (planet audio power)

so there is no reason to think that an L7 8'' subwoofer wont do the same.

i have an 8'' L7 i just bought via this forum. i dont really wanna sell it but i'll give it to you for exactly what i have in it. i bought the subwoofer for 65 dollars. then i bought a grille for it, for 12 dollars. then tomorrow i am having a custom built ported enclosure built. so if you dont want that you better let me know.
