Is my tinsel lead really broken?

I figured out I need the use the RXIO instead, the RXIK seems to read 0 ohms on everything, but when I use the RXIO I get a reading and I can hear a little scratch from the sub or speaker. It reads like 0.3 ohms so I think it still means that the tinsel lead is broken...
Would the meter happen to say RX10 and RX1K? The RXIK or RX1K might be for .001, so that would explain why no resistance shows up. As for the RX10 (or RXI0), it might be for .1, so If you multiply .1 x 3 ohms or so, you'll get .3 ohms or so.

Just an idea.

You might be onto something there, I'm going to use my friends DMM tomorrow and get a good reading out of it, i'll update this tomorrow with the real readings.

I think you are somewhat right, when I measure 1 coil it says .4 Ohms and when I measure the 2 of them together it reads .2 Ohms.

So if the coils are reading 4 ohms and it passes the battery test its safe to say the sub is fine?

Won't it damage the sub? I don't want to be sending the full hertz range to a sub? Isn't that why our amps have crossovers on them?
It will be ok, if anything it will fry up the inside of your stereo if hooked up too long

Edit: Or it will be like mine and not like the ohm load and just shut off.
