is my car fucked?

i heard popping noises when i turned my wheel for about a month, and didnt think much of it. but i was just driving home and i heard on final pop and now my power steering doesnt work and the engine overheats almost to the red. any ideas on what this is?

poping noise is cv axle more then likely(or any other number of steering parts that could be in bad condition)..if you don't know then take it some where....sounds like you should have a long time ago.

Power steering and overheating sounds like a belt to me. Probably need a CV axle soon too.

it is the cv axles my car had it.. I just rode that **** out.. its not a big deal.. the overheating is a ****** coincidence and not related.. the noise was like a bunch of pops when turning and giving it gas right? did you make sure you still had fluid left for power steering?

Don't worry about him just let it go.

Over heating is a very narrow range of things that it can be. Fluid level of course, head gasket(s), water pump, belt snapped(or is no longer working)

Belt is cheap..be happy that is all it may be.

it's not your axle its a belt and i don't recommend driving it. get it towed if u haven't already to a mechanic....it should be a cheaper fix unless u cook ur engine.
