I have the Planet Audio AC1800.5 5-Channel amp and a pair of Lanzar MX694 speakers. The speakers are 4 ohms at 170 watts RMS each, and the amp can put out 210 watts RMS per channel, but the amp is rated for 2 ohm loads, not 4 ohms like the speakers.
My question is, will the speakers work with my amp, and if so what kind of RMS should I expect out of these speakers?
If the speakers only use 85 RMS then there is still 85 RMS left, which would work good with a set of 75 RMS JBL P560C component speakers I have, but they are 2 ohms, so if I ran both speakers parallel I would have an impedance below 2 ohms, and I don't know if the amp could take it.. is there a way to raise impedance?
I don't know, I should have never have bought the 4-ohm speakers in the first place..
Please let me know if you have any ideas on how I can make this work! THANKS!
