is it worth it...

if you had some form of credit i would say do it but if not. not saying you need to have a credit card, go to the bank borrow like 300 bucks from the bank and pay it really fast and it will help your credit do that a few times and you will have established yourself some credit then you could more and have money if you ran out

i would like to know the bank that just hands 18 year olds cash like that. i've been trying to establish credit forever. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I dont know if you have tried this yet, but the way im establishing credit, other than paying my bills and rent on time, is that I got a one of those pre approved credit cards, and I leave it with my parents. Every month my mom or dad will either buy groceries on it or some small item like a shirt or clothes, and then they pay off the entire ballance that month. Works like a charm.

Check out roomates.com if you're serious about moving down there. It's usually for college kids connecting and finding roomates in a town, but if you can hook up with some people and get a room for $400 a month you'll make it a lot longer off $3,000 than if you are paying $1,000 a month for your own place.

That will give you a bit more time to get on your feet, find a job, decide if you want to go to school, whatever.

I wouldn't do it on the fly, but if you really need to get out, plan a bit and be smart about it.

im not going on the fly hardly, just thinkin of all my options. i would almost be better off finding a place here. just get out of my house with the parents and live on my own. my brother wants to move as well but does not save money like i do. i would move out with him but i would be constantly worried about him paying rent. this is why i think i could move out around here somewhere closer to campus (i like 10 miles from campus) but somewhere a little closer (6 miles or less). driving out to my house and back to town kills gas like crazy.
