Is it worth it to go active?

SO even tho the mid woofers say they recommend such and such box, you can just run them free air?
might want to read up on T/S specs to determine what configurations work best for each woofer. I would normally go with the recommended configuration though. The only reason I run free air is because I just don't want to make pods.

Thanks boo boo ka ka. Pricey SOB

Well I deff dont want to make pods. Lol.

They are over 15db more efficient per watt per meter than typical speakers. That means that they will be well over twice as loud as normal speakers off the same power.
Thats pretty serious. Where do I get the bodies for them? Ill look into it, again I dont know where I will put them though. Where do you mount yours?

buy a big enough amp? You don't have to go horns and speakers don't always need their full power to work. Or perhaps you just need to look into different horns lol
Ok, last question of the night, b4 I hit the sheets. If one of the mid woofers says it will work in a sealed enclosure, then it should be ok to run in my door, no? Since the door is somewhat sealed, but with some leaks. Lol. Idk if the airspace matches, but I figure this is the concept I will have to use.

do you want to be loud or sound good?
if you want both, then you dont know what you want.
Not true at all. You can have great SQ and get loud.

If you go active, you don't have to buy components. You can mix and match home audio woofers and tweeters from stores like PE. However, I did a little survey and it seems like most of the really good woofers are 7 or 8inches. There are a few good 6.5 woofers but they're 8ohm. If you can't fit 7 or 8inch woofers then stick with car component speakers (with or without passive crossovers).
I personally don't think it's worth going active unless you have a processor like JBL-MS8. You need more amplifier channels. You need the active crossovers. Tuning your active setup can be a *****. Why not just use component speakers for which most of this tuning work has been already done?

Regarding high power component speakers, check out

Alpine Type R (110watt)

Polk MM

Alpine Type X Pro (not Type X Ref)
None of what you listed is SQ in the least. There are plenty of great 6-6.75" mids out there. I have 2 sets sitting in my garage. The Aura NS6 comes to mind and it just happens to be on blowout.
