Is it worth $100?

I currently have an Alpine 9843 head unit and am looking to upgrade soon. I have been comparing/debating on one of these two Pioneer units:

DEH-P770MP

The only things I can find that are different are styling (of course), ~5WRMS, and 4V vs 6.5V Preamp outs.

I've found the 770 for about $200 and the 8MP for about $300 (shipped prices). In your opinion, is it worth the extra $100? Are there other comparable models you would recommend? It will be going in a new vehicle and possibly setup for occasional local shows/comps. I don't have $1000 to drop on "the best" but looking for something a bit better than what I have.

If I was looking for an upgrade I would not choose those. I would even prefer the Alpine unit over the Pioneers. But I'm no Pioneer fan so maybe I'm biased.

if ur going to hook up amps then get the p8mp becoz it has 6.5 amp out put from 4.0 to 6.5 that is a difference..... and the p8mp looks more solid its unique but if u want for regular use p770mp will be good 4 u

and both those HU are way better then what u have now not "a bit better "

Thanks for asking, but it is going in my dad's truck. I just installed a new DEH-P8MP tonight and I like it quite well, though the display is a bit bright at night. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
