Is it possible

I am going to go with either an Incriminator Audio 18" or a DC level 4 18". Both manufacturers do NOT recomend a sealed enclosure!

I really have never liked the sound of ported enclosures and would love to keep it in a sealed box! Sealed has always seemed so much cleaner and deeper than ported. I am not trying to get the highest SPL or enter any comps. Just want deep, clean sound!

I will be running the sundown 1200D with the sub wired at 1ohm giving the sub 1200 watts!

Is it still possible to run either of these subs in a sealed enclosure? Or do I have to run them in a vented enclosure? I do not want to compromise the sound quality or damage the sub by going sealed.

if you want to run sealed, dont be a moron and buy a sub reccomended for ported. Buy a sub that is reccomended for sealed.
secondly, a properly designed can sound clean and "deep"
Uh, no real need to call me a moron. I hate internet tough guys on forums who think they are the all knowing genius of the community. Your probably the type of guy who does not realize you are calling someone who could knock your front teeth down your throat a moron! You never know who is on the other side of the computer!

2nd, thanks for the info. I am a bit old school and just getting back into Car Audio! Back in the late 80's early 90's you could throw just about every sub into any enclosure design. Hence why I asked what I asked.

What do you reccomend that falls in line with quality 18" sub for a sealed box?

There are 2 different 18's that are recced for sealed that come to mind:

Ascendant audio Havoc 18( I loved mine, was an absolute beast) 1250 rms rated

SSA Xcon 18( I never heard one but they recommend sealed for it) 1750 rms rated.

I would get the havoc if I were you, although i personally would love to try the xcon. If you get the Havoc, go with 4-4.5 sealed, you will love this thing there.

1)you = internet tough guy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

2) im a lover, not a fighter.

3) be honest with yourself here. you want a buy a sub designed for a ported enclosure, and you want to put it in a sealed box. That isnt very intelligent, when there are many powerful drivers that perform VERY well in sealed boxes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I think i have just reason to use the word moron

No, I am not trying to be a tough guy. I was just trying to get some feedback and some help which by the way I might add this forum is for! If every member here knew everything about everything like yourself then this forum would not exist or be active!

I own a large MMA forum ( would be more than happy to give you the URL ) and see members who like to throw in negative slurs for some reason such as you needing to call me a moron! If you did not want to help you should have just kept your fingers off the key board and not answered!

My post was very informative. I said that putting either of yoru desired subs in a sealed box isnt a good idea, and that there are better options.

you, being the owner of a said MMA forum, should be able to handle the word moron informatively //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
