Is it possible

There are 2 different 18's that are recced for sealed that come to mind:
Ascendant audio Havoc 18( I loved mine, was an absolute beast) 1250 rms rated

SSA Xcon 18( I never heard one but they recommend sealed for it) 1750 rms rated.

I would get the havoc if I were you, although i personally would love to try the xcon. If you get the Havoc, go with 4-4.5 sealed, you will love this thing there.

I think you would be happier with a PROPERLY designed ported box.

No, you can't design it yourself.

But if you like inefficiency, go sealed.

If your not going to listen to our suggestions, then stop asking.

I am going to go with either an Incriminator Audio 18" or a DC level 4 18". Both manufacturers do NOT recomend a sealed enclosure!
I really have never liked the sound of ported enclosures and would love to keep it in a sealed box! Sealed has always seemed so much cleaner and deeper than ported. I am not trying to get the highest SPL or enter any comps. Just want deep, clean sound!

I will be running the sundown 1200D with the sub wired at 1ohm giving the sub 1200 watts!

Is it still possible to run either of these subs in a sealed enclosure? Or do I have to run them in a vented enclosure? I do not want to compromise the sound quality or damage the sub by going sealed.
you will not see 1200 rms runing that amp at 1 ohn get dual 1 or dual 0.7 and run it at .5 or .35 if you got a big battery behing get dual .7 and run it at .35 i run my sundown at .3 daily and get every watt plus some out of it

so, essentially, what you're saying is that sundown amps are over rated? interesting...

Dont listen to this guy. You run that amp at 1 ohm, and you will be fine, and have great reliability, and a great sounding system for many moons to come. Dont fall into the "I gotta run at .3 ohm cuz after rise im at 1 anyway" line of bullsh it
