Is it possible to have 2 subs hooked up to a mono amp

Hmm that is kind of odd since you only really hook it up to one voice coil on each subwoofer, but I don't know anything about wiring things so I guess if that works then it works :p. Would getting 2 zx750's also be an option, or a better option to word that correctly. I found a zx1500 on ebay for about $275, is that a good deal? I can give you the link if you need it. Thanks for everything, I'm here to learn so throw anything you have on your mind at me :p.

If it was me I wouldn't buy a used amp off ebay normally the kicker zx1500.1

will be around 475-500$$$ new on ebay... If you do buy a new amp or subs

post here first so we can help you on what ohm subs to buy and a amp to match it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

NO, if you look closer in the picture one of the + is wired to the opposite - on each subwoofer

Ok, so I was looking, one of them was new for a really cheap price but I don't think I'd trust it. Anyways, when it says it is 1500 watts rms @ 2 ohms, what would it's max be, or do you not want to push subwoofers past their rms?

max on an amp is an ambiguous number. the only number to pay attention to when considering power is the Root Mean Square.

Ok thank you guys, so best to just stick with the rms rating. See, I'm still learning new things everytime :p.
I am sure someone here has an answer for any newbish question you can conjure. Just be careful as you may run into the doucheist as well:wow://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Well thanks so far guys. I think I will most likely go with 2 12" l7 kickers @ 2 ohms with dual voice coils, a zx1500.1 amplifier, and a CDA-9887 for the headunit. I'll let you know how my search continues to go, since I won't be getting any of this stuff very soon, but thank you for all of the help you guys gave me, and you cleared up a lot of questions.

What type of subs do you have, and what are the voice coils on them? Let us know that and a budget your looking to spend on an amp and we can give you some suggestions.
I have 2 15" kicker cvr's, I don't now what the voice coils are on them, there is now budget, I just looking for an amp that will pound the hell out of these subs.

yes. its pretty much the only thing people do. very rarely will you see people actually buy 2 channel amps to run subs.
with a mono block amp, you wire up both subs into a specific load and you're left with 1 positive wire and 1 negative wire, which goes to the monoblock.
Do you know of a place where I can see it like on youtube, or a place to read more about it
