Is it ok to use a class D amp to push mids/hi's?

I have always heard you are to use a class D amp on your subs.. and A/B class on mids & hi's...Does this mean not to use a class D such as a Kicker ZX650.4 on my 2 pair of RSD components? Thanks for helping a newb..

650.4 is not class d to my knowledge but any full range amplfier will do fine

Class D amps do not run the range of freq. needed for mids and comps.

But as stated the amp you choose is not class D.

Any full range amp, including digital, will work for mids and highs.

Yes, it's fine.

Every amp I have is class D. No problems here.

Well I did a Google search and everything I found said the ZX650.4 was a class D..So thats why I figured it was..plus I noticed it comes with a bass boost knob...***UPDATE*** Now I have found some site that says its a a/b amp..Im going to call Kicker and find out for sure..

what about alpine pdx? those are class D full range..

same with some of the new blaupunkts. really nice amplifiers,both of them. very efficient and small footprint

also alto mobile made some really nice class D fullrange amps as well..

I wonder if the new blaus can really compete with the pdxs? The pdx are still more powerful with a smaller footprint...but I really like the new p-n-p technology.

Indeed....but I bet they will be more expensive
