Is It Just MY Experiences?

Most of these people that say their stock speakers have really good bass have probably never heard accurate bass. Stock speakers are made to be sensitive across as much of the frequency band as possible. So they will make bass. Accurate? Not by any means. It's sloppy.

To increase the midbass from aftermarket speakers (which will sound better than any midbass from stock speakers), seal and deaden your doors. Prevent the backwave from reflecting and hitting the back of the cone, or escaping and canceling out the front wave.

As far as I know, no aftermarket speakers have high pass filters in them, except on the tweeter. It doesn't matter if they are component or coaxial. The only way to highpass is with the HU before the amp, an active crossover before the amp, a crossover on the amp, or a passive after the amp and before the speakers (not often used for highpassing a midbass driver)

But see, you dont have to do all that to get loud midbass from stock speakers. Why is all that necessary for the aftermarket speakers to have strong midbass output and they are supposed to be superior?

Heck, imagine if you'd seal and deaden your door with the FACTORY speakers still in your doors, lol, the midbass would probably be phenominal.

Though not all factory speakers have good midbass. Alot of the cars from 97' on up do, that I'VE been in.

If nobody can recommend some good 3-wayz with strong midbass, i guess i might have to buy some Kicker SSMB8's.

OR....or, i can buy some more stock speakers, and just have them doing midbass frequencies, lmao.

...The vast majority of comp set mids are designed to run IB. Sticking them in small sealed enclosures can only hurt their low-end potential. Unless you have dedicated midbass up front to handle those responsibilities, Id recommend losing the sealed enclsoures, changing them to aperiodic, or possibly venting them depending on the driver...
also your trying to get midbass out of two brands of speakers notorious for producing little to no midbass or any lower end bass to speak of
Ditto, ditto. Fix these and your problem's solved, lol.

In a door, with a decent woofer(good excursion, good low frequency sensitivity), it's not hard to get a flat response well into subwoofer range. In order to shove a woofer into a small pod and expect lots of bass, you'll need one with a very powerful motor and a lot of wattage behind it cause it's only coming out by force.

Most stock systems seem overly heavy in midbass, generally with poor sound quality all around. There's no point in amping stock. There really is little to gain as they have very limited excursion and power handling. They're not exactly a good piece of hardware to start with, just cheap. The only thing they generally have going for them is the stock HU is EQed for them. In many cars, the stock HU has a default, modified EQ(not flat) that makes the uber cheap stock speakers actually sound ok. Throw in aftermarket speakers and you can get some goofiness.

good question

I dont get it. Damm-near every car i've been in, the factory stock speakers had way more midbass than the "Brand Speakers" ive heard. Why is that?
It was the same in my car aswell. My stock speakers had significantly more midbass than my Infinity speakers that I replaced them with. And even some Polks that I tried out. Im almost tempted to go buy some more factory speakers and toss my Infinity speakers, lol. The only thing is the Infinitys have some AWESOME vocals and highs...absolutely beautiful. If they just had the midbass of my stock speakers i had, they would be top notch.

And if it IS just MY experiences and not the norm, than can some of you please recommend some Brand Speakers I can buy that have good midbass?

I will surely appreciate it. Because I'm not one of those guy'z that just blast a million decibals of sub bass and have totally absent or drowned out midbass. I like my music as balanced as I can get it.

Thanx in advance //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fro.gif.c695f1f814b01c4ad99fe7f8cccadd29.gif
i asked myself that too. my crystals don't get down like me stock speakers did..... even with the amp, the deadening, wood baffle and clay, the sub off and the HPF off

In a factory system, everything has already been engineered for you. The stock speakers are engineered specifically to the vehicle for the best response all around. However due to cheap materials and little power they distort really quickly most of the time.

When you put in your own stereo, none of the engineering has been done for you. The aftermarket drivers require more power, and are much heavier and are just completely different in every way. How can you expect the same results without doing a bit of testing yourself? If you aren't satisfied with your midbass...change something. There are people out there with midbass and aftermarket stereos, it's possible, just do some research and testing.
