Is it dangerous to have an amp mounted like this?

It won't get too hot like that as long as you leave the cooling fins a space to breathe. The trunk is a big space to have air in for cooling-just don't turn it upside down (mount it overhead) most amps don't like that much- the way you have it is fine.

I could attach it to the amp with thermal adhesive (Transfers heat, but kinda like super glue) what do you reckon of this idea?

I think it is a waste of money, as you aren't going to have issues the way it is.

Just for the sake of cooling... Those hdd fans ****. You'd be better off with 80mm or bigger.

You don't need it, but it wouldn't hurt anything.
