Is it dangerous to have an amp mounted like this?

It won't get too hot like that as long as you leave the cooling fins a space to breathe. The trunk is a big space to have air in for cooling-just don't turn it upside down (mount it overhead) most amps don't like that much- the way you have it is fine.
