Is it blown??

Hey guys, quick question, when I push down on a speakers dust cap, I can hear it "squeak" Does it mean its blown?

You shouldnt push down on the dustcap, for one. Do you have a multimeter? Check and see what the coils read.

What are you doing pushing down on the speaker's dust cap?

Has it done anything to hurt you?

Not really pushing hard down on it. Just lightly like for example when a speakers playing, the dustcap moves up and down a little. Thats how Im "pushing" it but very gently

2) Take a DMM, and measure the DCR of the coils.

Measure the VC with a DMM, it reads the correct ohms it supposed to be

when i first got my idMAX i couldn't resist to push it down a mm or so. it made like a scratchy sounding noise. and when my gf helped me put it into my trunk she couldnt hold the enclosure with the sub.. i was holding one end and she "held" the other end poorly, causing the sub to lean on my chest and it pushed in pretty far and while it was being pushed in from my chest it was making scratching noise. i wonder what that is. well anyway the sub works flawless. i am happy.
