Geico is awesome they saved me way more than 15%. As a single male, 24 yrs old when I bought my 04 Dakota Quad CAb V8 AAA wanted 3 grand a year living with my 55+ year old parents in Philly. I moved to the suburbs, switched to Liberty Mutual, got it down to 2 grand. Then All State got me down to 1700 per year, but then the discounts they used to sucker me in expired and I was lookin at over 2 grand again. Geico got me down to less than 1200 bucks and has kept me there ever since.
Got ear ended at speed by some stupid highschool ***** talkin on her cell who hit 4 other people in the last 6 months. I guess the cop didn't want to give the cute high school chick a hard time cause she didn't have her insurance info and he gave her 10 days to present it rather than citing her immediately and making her call home to get it. I went through my insurance company and told them I wasn't willin to wait. They tracked her down within a week while simultaneously putting me in a rental car and getting my truck fixed within about a week and a half. No muss, no fuss.
The only thing to be aware of, at least the way I was told it works is if you have a heavily modified vehicle like most companies you have to tell them about any modifications you want covered it and you can only insure up to a certain dollar amount worth of modifications (I forget what that is, somewhere between 2 and 5 grand) before you have to start paying more for the extra coverage. So if you cheap out and leave some things out because you don't want to pay for the extra coverage you may be SOL in some situations.
