Is Geico a good insurance company?

anyone have any problems with them. i.e. claims or horrible customer service.

ive been with usaa ever since i was 16 but am now in florida after getting out of the marine corps. usaa pretty much just doubled my car insurance, renters ins and personal property insurance so now im shopping. geico's online estimate is almost as low as my usaa insurance was in nc. any opinons on the matter?

A friend had Geico and his car had some hail damage from a storm, they sent someone out pretty quickly and cut a pretty large check for the little damage he had. That's my only experience with them but everything went smoothly.

not as bad as they used to be...all interactions with insurance companies are different and objective...if its what you can afford do it, it could be worse...

oh, just checked my usaa account. they actually quadrupled it to over 1500 every 6 mos and then gave me a ton of discounts ive never had before to bring it down to just under 8.

understood. thats why i like coming on here. other than the ones who give bs stupid responses you get a look at a compnay from views across the nation.

i can afford usaa i just think its silly to pay double for no reason. im not going to leave my car here to get destroyed by a hurricane.

well i've been in the business for awhile now, ive seen all kinds of companies, and i've heard their customers both complain and praise them, almost the same thing no matter where you go...most auto and renters policies are equal across the board, just a matter of deductible and overall coverage amounts...

Never used Geico, but the lady who hit my car had it.

I have Grange and really couldn't me much happier...

Used them for years with no complaints. They even helped me out when I ran over some bitch riding a bicycle.

And it is so easy even a caveman can do it.

i started out with progressive when i first got my car and they were charging me 1800/6months. after my first 6 months went to geico and they dropped it down to 750+/6months. now, after 1 accident, 2 speeding tickets, noise violation ticket, seat belt ticket, i pay 600/6months.

usaa customer service trumps all in my opinion. Geico used to be just like usaa in that they were an all military insurance company. Geico quoted me outrageous quotes. I think Geico stands for Government Entity Insurance Corporation, and thats all for my worthless single post of the day.

I sell Allstate Insurance, which is good insurance, but expensive usually for younger drivers. It just depends though, so you may check with them.
