Is DLP done?

LCD and DLP will be around for a while. Plasma will be fading out, too many "burn in" issues, as well as having to have them recharged. Friend had 50 inch Samsung Plasma that only lasted about 3 years

LCOS was better than DLP, but its pretty much dead after Sony stopped making it.

Liquid images comparable to plasma, bright like DLP, but from what I read they werent as inexpensive to make as DLP or regular LCD.

JVC still makes LCOS sets, supposed to be great (NASA uses JVC LCOS sets), but I havent seen them myself.

Let me know when you are ready to buy a plasma recharge kit.........

Toasted do you have any kind of power conditioner on that dlp? Im going on 4 years with the same bulb on my panasonic using it as the main TV in the household, I think a large part of that has to do with the Panamax conditioner.

I watched both at a local sears store and I must say LCD was much better, the samsung 65" tv looked weak, especially in the corners of the screen, watched everything in HD and the lcd was just much better. I liked the big screen of the 65" since my last rear projector was 55" with the old type bulbs which lasted about 5yrs. The lcd was much nicer so I purchased a 46" sony for about the same cost as the samsung 65". There were just more advantages to the lcd compared to the dlp in setup/living room. My friend had problems with his bulb after 2yrs and a problem with the color wheel after 2.5yrs.

3 chip DLP with dual mercury/xenon lamp for the win. (I wish I could own one, but I get to use them alot for work).

10,000 - 25,000 lumens
